Originally established as a commemoration of the Armistice concluding World War I, Veteran’s Day is now set aside to honor all those who have worn the uniform of the United States. While “thank you for your service” has become a commonplace expression, it falls short of fully showing gratitude to those who have risked life and limb on behalf of our nation. On this day let us not only offer respect but appreciate what we owe the men and women who have served and make sure they are never forgotten when they return.
