Since the start of her first term as Mayor, we have faced a global pandemic, the highest inflation in decades, and local crises in housing, in unemployment, in business closures, in mental & physical health, and more.

Mayor Katjana led Somerville inclusively and decisively to create a successful program of COVID recovery, to make important municipal reforms and to create the city government that we need to thrive.

She organized resident teamwork in task forces, working groups, and commissions. She listened. Her inclusive leadership style gives stake holders a chance to help shape the policies and programs that will affect them. She knows that inclusive leadership produces the best, lasting results by creating enthusiasm and buy-in for the things that we do together. The many accomplishments of her leadership prove that her style is efficient and effective

Her leadership and our teamwork has delivered a long list of results to take pride in, after only three short years. Although there is much more work to be done, we have made profound progress turning our shared vision into reality
