Manikka L. Bowman, Cambridge School Committee Vice-Chair, has endorsed City Councilor Katjana Ballantyne to be the next Mayor of Somerville.
“Katjana is committed to serving every resident in order to move the city of Somerville forward. As an educational leader, I know Katjana will prioritize the needs of children as Somerville work to tackle the academic and social-emotional impacts of COVID,” said Bowman. “In these critical times, we need strong local leaders. I have no doubt Katjana is the right woman at the right time for the job.”
Ballantyne said, “Manikka Bowman has been one of the leading voices in the Commonwealth on education and with her work at the Urban Land Institute. To have her support is inspirational as we face the challenges ahead.”
